This event is no longer on sale.

Friday February 17

12:00 PM  –  1:00 PM

Join staff to discuss ways of using the current exhibition Being and Believing in the Natural World in your teaching. Wai Yee Chiong, curator of ancient art, and Sháńdíín Brown, curatorial fellow for Native American art, will share an overview of the exhibition’s themes, including sacred powers humans have ascribed to the natural world; deep understanding of mined and harvested resources; reverence for nature’s abundance, beauty, and powers of destruction; and how tradition, training, and cultural identity factor into discourses of nature. Alexandra Poterack, director of academic programs, will facilitate discussion on building class visits and assignments around the exhibition for interdisciplinary courses across the studio and liberal arts curriculum.
