Faculty Workshop: Collaboration with/in Communities
Do you assign group projects? Do you believe that "working well with others" is crucial to professional environments? This workshop explores collaboration: what it can look like, what mechanisms are at play, and the museum as a place to build the necessary skills for collaboration. We will explore the Museum as a site of collaboration, look at collaborative curatorial projects, and unpack the layered collaborative processes behind many of the artworks in the collection. Through these examples you can prepare students to learn about the skills and organization necessary to work with each other as well as to collaborate with communities outside of RISD.
