Nicole Eisenman (RISD BFA 1987, Painting) delivers this year's address. An internationally exhibited artist, Eisenman has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, a MacArthur Fellowship, and a Carnegie Prize. Her work includes installations, drawings, animations, and paintings that typically challenge cultural and social norms associated with gender and sexuality and popular culture.

 

Endowed in 1974 by her family and friends, the Gail Silver Memorial Lecture at the RISD Museum is open to the public.
