Member Trip - Eustis Estate

Members and their guests are invited to join us for a private tour of the magnificent Eustis Estate in Milton, MA.

The Eustis Estate is home to the the exhibition, The Importance of Being Furnished: Four Bachelors at Home, which explores the evolution of American interior design by spotlighting four historic homes - Beauport-Sleeper-McCann House, Codman Estate, Gibson House, Pendleton House – and their creators. The RISD Museum has lent several pieces of furniture to supplement the show. 

Tripp Evans, renowned art historian, professor, author and curator of Historic New England’s exhibition The Importance of Being Furnished: Four Bachelors at Home, alongside Elizabeth Williams, Curator of Decorative Arts, lead a dynamic tour of the Eustis Estate that shares insights into the estate's collection, offering a unique perspective on its significance and history.

 

*Tentative Itinerary*

845am - Group boards bus at RISD Museum, 20 North Main Street entrance.

9am - Bus departs (20 North Main Street entrance)

10am - Arrive at Eustis Estate, Milton, MA

10am - 12pm - greetings, tour, walk the grounds, etc. 

12 - 130pm - lunch (outdoor picnic tables at Eustis House)

2pm - Depart Eustis Estate Milton, MA

3pm - Arrive at RISD Museum

Discounted parking is available at the Metropark lots - one on the corner of North Main and Steeple Streets, the other on the corner of Park Row and Canal Street.
