Roundtable: Three Takes on the Performative Self-Portrait
Thursday, October 5, 7-8:30 pm
Virtual via Zoom - a link will be sent before the program.
The Performative Self-Portrait explores the work of photographers who turn the camera back upon themselves. The self-portraits explore photography as a vehicle to enact the self, question history, and articulate identity.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition The Performative Self-Portrait, this virtual program features Jess T. Dugan, Dr. Cara Judea Alhadeff, and photo historian Dr. Jung Joon Lee, Associate Professor in RISD’s Department of Theory and History of Art and Design. The discussion will focus on performative identities and will be facilitated by Conor Moynihan, Assistant Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs.
