Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and sake as this edition of “Think and Drink” explores the exhibition The Artistry and Reunion of Two Surimono Albums. Discover the stories contained within two extraordinary albums of privately commissioned Japanese woodblock prints, known as surimono, compiled in Japan in the 1820s to 1830s.
Offering a window into Japan’s art and literary scene of the time, this exhibition reunites the RISD Museum-owned album and its companion album, from the collection of the Chiba City Museum of Art in Japan. Michael Hartman, Houghton P. Metcalf Jr. Curator Prints, Drawings, and Photographs will lead this tour.
Following the tour, enjoy a sake tasting led by Campus Fine Wines, thoughtfully selected to complement your exhibition experience.
Registration is required. This event is for guests ages 21 and over.
