This special edition of Think & Drink explores The Road Less Traveled, which highlights an 1819 map by illustrator Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) that details the Nakasendō route and is accompanied by 15 vibrant woodblock prints showing famous sites and views along this scenic highway.

This exhibition alongside a variety of contemporary Japanese maps provide catalysts for close looking and expansive discussion. This exhibition tour and dialogue will be facilitated by Wai Yee Chiong, Curator Asian Art and Andrew Middleton. Andrew is a published cartographer, Geographic Information Systems Specialist and the fourth owner of The Map Center, New England's oldest map store, in Pawtucket RI.
